What to expect during your treatment
After consultation, treatment itself takes around fifteen minutes. We cleanse the skin and place a series of small injections into the targeted muscles using fine micro-needles. Most patients describe a brief, manageable pinch with each injection. There is no need for topical anaesthetic for the upper-face areas, although it can be used on request. You can return to your day immediately afterwards.
When you'll see results
The treated muscles begin to soften over three to fourteen days, with the final result visible by two weeks. Effects typically last three to four months. Many patients return for ongoing maintenance every three to four months — the muscle response is often more sustained with regular treatment, allowing some patients to extend the interval over time.
Areas we treat
Standard upper-face zones are forehead lines, glabellar (frown) lines and crow's feet. We also offer advanced indications when clinically appropriate — bunny lines, gummy smile, masseter slimming for jawline contour, and the Nefertiti lift for the lower face. Advanced indications are discussed during consultation as part of a tailored plan.

Q.Is it safe?
A.Botulinum toxin has a long established safety record when administered by a qualified medical practitioner. Common side effects are mild and temporary — slight bruising or tenderness at injection sites. Rare side effects include temporary asymmetry, which usually resolves on its own. Because every treatment at Alula is doctor-led, complications are reviewed and managed within the same medical practice that delivered your treatment.
Q.Will I look 'frozen'?
A.Not in our hands. We dose to soften — not to immobilise. Our default is a refined, natural-looking result that allows you to keep facial expression. Higher doses are available if a more sustained result is what you want, but we always discuss the trade-off in your consultation rather than defaulting to the maximum dose.
Q.How much does it cost?
A.Pricing is determined per area. A single area starts from £180 with a two-week review included. Multi-area treatment plans are usually more cost-effective than single areas, and we confirm the full cost in writing at the end of your consultation — never partway through treatment.
Q.How often do I need it?
A.Most patients return every three to four months for maintenance. With regular treatment some patients find the muscle response is more sustained over time and can extend the interval to four or five months. We do not recommend treating before the previous round has fully worn off.
