Face & Body Fat Dissolving
Injectable lipolysis for stubborn pockets of resistant fat.
From
£150per area per session
Targeted fat reduction without surgery
Injectable lipolysis is a non-surgical option for localised pockets of fat resistant to diet and exercise — most commonly the submental area (double chin), bra-line, abdomen, flanks and inner thighs. Doctor-assessed for medical suitability, with realistic expectations agreed before any treatment is offered.
Doctor-assessed suitability
Not everyone is a candidate; we screen for medical suitability first.
Targeted approach
Treats specific, mappable pockets — not generalised weight reduction.
Walk-in, walk-out
No theatre, no general anaesthetic; some swelling is expected.
Multi-session course
Most patients require 2–4 sessions, six weeks apart.

Manchester, Wilmslow and Chelsea
We see a steady demand for submental fat dissolving among professionals in Manchester city centre and Chelsea — typically those who maintain weight well but cannot shift a small under-chin pocket. Body-area treatments tend to peak in the spring at our Wilmslow clinic ahead of summer.

Areas commonly treated
Submental (double chin), jowls, bra-line, abdomen, flanks (love handles), inner and outer thighs. We do not treat areas with thin overlying tissue or where the pocket is generalised rather than localised. Pre-treatment photography and measurements are standard practice at Alula.
What to expect
After consultation, photography and consent, we map the area into a small grid and inject fat-dissolving solution at multiple points. Treatment takes around twenty to thirty minutes per area. Swelling, tenderness and firmness in the treated area are expected for one to two weeks — these are part of the desired inflammatory response that breaks down fat cells.
Realistic expectations
Injectable lipolysis delivers progressive change, not dramatic single-session transformation. Most patients see meaningful results after two to four sessions spaced six weeks apart. It is not a substitute for diet, exercise or surgery, and we will tell you honestly if your concern would be better addressed with a different treatment or referral.
Common questions about Face & Body Fat Dissolving
Q.How much swelling should I expect?
A.Significant swelling is expected and is part of the treatment mechanism. The submental area can be quite swollen for the first three to five days; abdomen and flanks slightly less. Bruising can occur. Most patients schedule the first session before a quieter weekend or work-from-home period.
Q.How many sessions will I need?
A.Most patients require two to four sessions spaced six weeks apart, with results progressing over the full course. Some patients with a smaller pocket and good response are happy after two sessions; others continue for the full four. We review at each session and adjust the plan together.
Q.Is it permanent?
A.Fat cells dissolved by lipolysis do not regenerate. However, remaining fat cells in the area can still grow if your weight increases significantly, so meaningful weight gain after treatment can reduce visible results. Maintaining a stable weight gives the best long-term outcome.
Q.Who is not a candidate?
A.We do not treat patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have certain autoimmune conditions, are on certain anticoagulants, or whose concern is generalised rather than focal. A thorough consultation is the only way to determine suitability — and sometimes the right answer is that this treatment is not right for you.
