A practical workshop for leg thread veins

Microsclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure for small superficial spider and thread veins, primarily on the legs. A sclerosant such as Fibrovein is injected with an ultra-fine needle to irritate the vessel lining, helping the vein collapse and seal before the body gradually reabsorbs it.

    What microsclerotherapy does

The treatment aims to remove or reduce small thread veins. It is typically quick, often around twenty minutes for a treatment session, and commonly produces around 70%-80% improvement when patients are suitable and expectations are managed properly.

    Course content

Patient suitability, leg-vein assessment, contraindications, consent, photography, sclerosant mechanism, use of ultra-fine needles, injection technique, post-procedure advice and realistic outcome setting. The workshop also explains why microsclerotherapy is often more effective than laser or IPL for leg thread veins.

    Safety and boundaries

Training includes adverse-event recognition, documentation, aftercare and when to refer rather than treat. Practitioners are taught to keep the procedure within small superficial spider/thread veins rather than larger varicose-vein work.

    Frequently Asked

    Common questions about Microsclerotherapy Workshop

    Q.What veins is this for?

A.This workshop is for small superficial spider and thread veins, primarily on the legs. Larger varicose veins or signs of venous insufficiency require appropriate assessment and referral.

Q.How does this differ from laser thread vein treatment?

A.Laser and IPL can be useful in some areas, but microsclerotherapy is often more effective for leg thread veins because it treats the vessel directly with sclerosant.

    Q.Are models provided?

A.Yes. Models are provided for the workshop, subject to suitability and scheduling.

Q.How much improvement should patients expect?

A.Suitable patients are commonly advised to expect reduction rather than guaranteed complete clearance, with typical improvement often around 70%-80%.
