Patient selection
Fat dissolving rewards careful patient selection more than many treatments. We cover honest framing — what injectable lipolysis can and cannot do — and how to recognise patients who would be better served by surgical referral, lifestyle advice, or a different aesthetic intervention. Saying no professionally is part of the course.
Technique and dosing
Detailed technique training for the submental, abdomen, flanks and inner thighs. Dilution protocols, mapping the treatment area, dose limits per session, total course planning. Practical demonstration and supervised live-model practice for both submental and body areas.
Complications
Bruising, prolonged swelling, marginal mandibular nerve considerations near the chin, irregularities of contour. We cover recognition, prevention and management of complications with the same seriousness as our other injectable courses. Documentation and consent are emphasised.
Common questions about Deso Fat Dissolving Course
Q.How long is the course?
A.It is a focused full day — around six hours including breaks. Theory in the morning, supervised live-model practice in the afternoon. Smaller group sizes give every attendee meaningful hands-on time on both submental and body areas.
Q.Will I be able to start treating immediately?
A.You will have the foundational competency required to begin treating, with appropriate indemnity in place. We strongly recommend starting cautiously — submental cases first, smaller doses, careful follow-up — and building experience methodically. Post-course email support is included for ninety days.
Q.Which products are covered?
A.The course centres on Deso (deoxycholic acid) protocols. We discuss the alternative agents available in the UK, the regulatory considerations, and the differences in dilution, dosing and downtime between them. Brand-specific training is available as continuing education.
Q.Are there patients I should not treat?
A.Yes — and recognising them is a core part of the course. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain autoimmune conditions, certain anticoagulants, generalised rather than focal fat distribution, unrealistic expectations. Refusing politely and professionally is a skill we teach explicitly.
