Course content
Morning: facial anatomy with a focus on the muscles of facial expression, pharmacology of botulinum toxin, dosing protocols, patient selection and consent. Practical mid-morning: drawing up, dilution, storage and disposal. Afternoon: supervised live-model practice across forehead, glabella and crow's feet.
What you will leave with
Demonstrated foundational competency, hands-on supervised experience, a written course manual, your CPD certificate, and access to clinical email support for ninety days post-course. You will leave able to begin treating patients within an appropriate clinical setting and indemnity framework.
Indemnity and scope
We will discuss professional indemnity and scope of practice openly during the course. Your professional regulator may have specific guidance on aesthetic injectables — we strongly recommend reviewing that before you begin practising. Different professional groups (doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists) have slightly different scope considerations.
Common questions about Basic Botulinum Toxin Training
Q.Do I need previous aesthetic experience?
A.No — this is a foundation course. It assumes a medical or dental background but no prior aesthetic injectable experience. If you do have prior experience, our Combined Botulinum Toxin course or our Masterclass may be more appropriate.
Q.Will I be insured to practise after the course?
A.Indemnity is your responsibility, but we cover the typical indemnity considerations during the course and signpost the major UK indemnity providers. Most providers will require evidence of recognised training — which the course certificate provides.
Q.Will I really get hands-on time?
A.Yes. Hands-on supervised live-model practice is central to the course. We deliberately keep group sizes small to ensure each attendee gets multiple supervised injections across the upper face during the practical session.
Q.What about complications?
A.We cover complication recognition and management as core content — including how to recognise, manage and document common issues such as ptosis, asymmetry and bruising. Complications management is part of responsible aesthetic practice and is woven through the course rather than treated as an afterthought.
