HIFU Vaginal Rejuvenation
How HIFU vaginal tightening works, what concerns it may support, and the key treatment-day requirements.

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. HIFU vaginal tightening is a non-invasive, non-ablative method that allows energy deposition into deeper support layers while avoiding epithelial heating.
The beam of ultrasound energy passes harmlessly through the vaginal wall, allowing a focal point to target deeper layers of the vaginal wall structure.
Vaginal rejuvenation can help women with problems associated with the vagina. It may help with unpleasant burning, itching and dryness, support urinary-tract concerns, and improve confidence in intimate life.
Women of different ages may benefit from this procedure, including those after natural childbirth and during menopause. The aim is to help regain appropriate elasticity and diameter of the vagina, while supporting physiological pH levels and bacterial flora.
Its main function is to restore the integrity of vaginal skin, strengthen vaginal muscles, and encourage more collagen in the wall, leading to tightening of a lax vagina and strengthening of the bladder valve to stop or minimise stress incontinence.
It is a non-surgical, painless procedure that takes around 30 to 40 minutes. The patient should not be bleeding on the day and should not be wearing a copper coil. A Mirena coil is allowed.
