HIFU Face and Body Skin Tightening
How high intensity focused ultrasound targets deeper support layers to support skin tightening and collagen renewal.
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. HIFU skin tightening is a non-invasive, non-ablative method that allows energy deposition into deeper support layers while avoiding unnecessary heating of the skin surface.
The ultrasound beam passes harmlessly through the skin, allowing a focused point of energy to target deeper layers of the skin structure.
Collagen is the main structural protein in the extracellular matrix of connective tissue. It consists of amino acids bound together by hydrogen bonds to form a triple helix. Collagen is important in wound healing and is a main component in fascia, cartilage, bone, ligaments, tendons and skin.
HIFU heats tissue to the temperature range where collagen denaturation occurs and the tissue-repair cascade begins.
HIFU can be used on the face and body for aims including brow lifting, jowl lifting, mid-face lifting, reduction of nasolabial folds and marionette lines, neck lifting, décolleté lifting, breast lifting, Brazilian bum lifting, abdominal wall tightening, and skin tightening where there is flaccid skin.
